How Much Does It Cost to Start a Company (LLC) in BiH 2026
A detailed breakdown of the cost of forming an LLC in FBiH in 2026: notary, court fees, stamp, founding capital and the total. Plus timeline and requirements.
Total Cost of Forming an LLC (d.o.o.) in FBiH in 2026
Forming a limited liability company (d.o.o.) in the Federation of BiH involves several mandatory costs. Here is a realistic overview for 2026:
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Notary (drafting and certifying the founding act) | 150 to 300 BAM |
| Court fee for entry in the court register | 150 to 300 BAM |
| Company stamp | 30 to 70 BAM |
| Company formation agency (optional) | 200 to 400 BAM |
| Founding capital (paid in, stays with the company) | 1,000 BAM |
The total administrative cost, excluding founding capital and without hiring an agency, ranges between 330 and 670 BAM. With ENS's service, the whole process, including preparation of the documentation, usually costs between 600 and 900 BAM.
Founding Capital Is Not a Cost
The minimum founding capital for a d.o.o. in FBiH is 1,000 BAM (the smallest individual contribution is 100 BAM). It is important to understand that this is not a cost: the capital is paid into a temporary account on formation and, after registration, stays with the company as working capital that you are free to use for your business.
Unlike a d.o.o., a joint-stock company (d.d.) has a considerably higher statutory minimum capital, so a d.o.o. is almost always the right choice for small and medium-sized businesses.
What You Need to Form a Company
- Company name and activity code
- Details of the founder or founders (identity documents)
- Registered office address
- Amount and structure of the founding capital
- Details of the person authorised to represent the company
How Long It Takes
With the ENS team, the entire registration process at the Municipal Court usually takes 5 to 7 working days: from signing the founding documents to receiving the registration decision, registering with the Tax Administration of FBiH and registering with the ITA (UIO). LLC (d.o.o.) or Sole Trader (obrt)
If you are just starting out and working on your own, a sole trader (obrt) is cheaper and simpler to open and close. A d.o.o. limits your liability to the capital invested and makes a better impression on larger clients and partners. Make the decision before formation, because changing the legal form later involves additional costs.
